The AC/GC Chargers volleyball team had their first home match of the season Tuesday, and made a good showing in a loss to the Van Meter Bulldogs.

Head Coach Caley Vaughan says that it was a tough match, but that the team came out strong each of the three sets that were played, taking the lead before Van Meter clawed back and took the win. The sets were lost 25-15, 25-12, and 25-23. Vaughan mentions that Stella Largent and Camdyn Richter had some big hits from the outside and back row, and Largent was able to get several kills. She adds that Savannah Akers and Nora Langgaard were able to come up with some big blocks, but that Van Meter seemed to be able to recover the majority of the time.

Vaughan explains that setter Becca Littler had some phenomenal assists on the night, and was able to record several digs as well. She shares that after watching game footage after the match, there were only two missed serves for the Chargers on the night. The team returns to action Tuesday, as they host the Woodward-Granger Hawks.
