Tomorrow is the first big day of the 2025 Guthrie County Fair, with several events planned.

The 4-H Foodstand will be open from 7am to 5pm, and the first thing on the schedule is the antique tractor display from 8am to 5pm, with the first competition being the Horse Show at 8:30am. The 4-H/FFA Swine Show and the cribbage tournament both begin at 9am, along with open class agriculture exhibit judging. The 4-H/FFA Education Center will be open from 10am to 6pm, with the 4-H/FFA sheep and goat show taking place at 12:30pm.

Free carnival rides will be from 1-10pm, and the American Legion Bingo stand will be open from 3pm until the grounds close for the night, with the final exhibit event being the Clover Kids Show beginning at 4pm. Guthrie County Fair Board member Tyler Carney tells Raccoon Valley Radio about the free Grandstand event for the night.

“The Grand River Rodeo has been a staple at the fairgrounds at the Guthrie County Fair for quite some time. I’m not even sure the exact years, but probably close to a couple decades at this point. This is their last year. They’re not doing the rodeo any longer, so it’s a great time to come out and see them one last chance, but they look forward to coming up every year.”

Carney says that registration for mutton busting during the Grand River Rodeo will be at 5:30pm, and the rodeo itself will begin at 7pm in the Grandstand. A full list of fair events can be found on the Guthrie County Fair website.
