Tomorrow is the 2025 season opener for the Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Football Team, and Head Coach Doug Winkowitsch is wanting to create as much disruption as possible on defense.

In the 2024 season, the Tigers acquired 454 total tackles, 16 sacks, recovered 5 fumbles, and accounted for 19 interceptions for 215 yards and 3 touchdowns. Winkowitsch says the approach is similar offensively and defensively with making depth on the roster as there are some younger players that will need guidance from the upperclassmen. He was happy with the turnover margin from ADM a season ago, and wants to keep increasing that intensity this year.

“We really want to force that ball and be physical. And I think that’s our second level, it’s really that linebacker core that really needs to lead us this year and be tremendous. We do a good job of controlling the line of scrimmage typically. It’s going to be guys making plays from the second and third level and come up and try not to give up those extra yards.”

Winkowitsch is heading into year number two with the program, as he led the Tigers to an 8-3 overall record, losing to Lewis Central 32-25 in the Class 4A Quarterfinals. ADM opens this season traveling to Winterset High School for a date with the Huskies tomorrow evening at 7:30pm. Raccoon Valley Radio will carry the broadcast on K107.9 KKRF.
