The Adel City Council met in regular session on Monday.

According to Mayor Jim Peters, the council held interviews with four candidates that were vying for a vacant council seat with former member Rob Christensen’s resignation at the end of June. After consideration, he confirmed that the council chose to appoint Eric Trout to fill the vacancy and Peters administered the Oath of Office for Trout.

Peters notes that some of the other  items on the agenda that were approved included appointing Tara Loterbour to the Library Board, accepting a payment of $4,108.56 to the City of Audubon for related contracted costs for Adel Police Office Tayte DeVoll, who was sworn in on August 12th, to work for the department full time; and a resolution to accept the City Administrator Recruitment Agreement with Theia Management Consulting LLC.

Peters adds that the council held a discussion pertaining to moving all regular city council meetings to the library community room in January. He explains that no action was taken, but that staff members will present the financial expenses at a future meeting.
