The AC/GC Chargers hosted the Panorama Panthers last night for their first game of the 2025 football season, and secured their first win of the year with a final score of 40-0.
The Panthers went on the offensive first, but a forced fumble by senior Carter Richter and recovery by sophomore Kinnick Froehlich put the Chargers on the Panthers’s 20 yard line for a quick score, off a one yard rush by senior Angel Martinez putting them up 7-0. The next drive for AC/GC began on their own six yard line, and ended in yet another touchdown, with senior Joe Crawford getting a 75 yard run in. The Chargers finished the first half with another touchdown, this time from senior Tommy Skram, a field goal by senior Oliver Wetzel, and a safety, going into the break leading 26-0.
The second half played out much like the first, with AC/GC putting up another two touchdowns, and finishing the game with the 40-0 victory. To their credit, the Panthers fought every step of the game, but were just unable to string enough together to get on the board. Junior Ryder Cline led the team in tackles for the game, with senior Kade Sorensen recording two tackles for a loss of yards. On the offensive side, senior Crawford had nearly 131 yards, with Martinez securing close to 70. Crawford and Cline were named the Crafty’s Coffee and Gifts Players of the Game, with the Dub P Apparel Elite Fit Play of the Game being a pick-6 by Froehlich. The Chargers next game will be on the road next Friday, as they take on the Southwest Valley Timberwolves.
