The Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Football Team gears up for the 2025-26 season, with an opening matchup in Winterset tonight.
The 7th-ranked Tigers in Class 4A and Huskies will battle as both teams look to make an early statement. Last year, ADM finished with an 8-3 record, losing to Lewis Central in the Class 4A Quarterfinals, while Winterset concluded 5-4 on the year, ending on a dominant 56-7 victory over Council Bluffs Jefferson on senior night. The Tigers will be led by senior Hudson Shull at the Quarterback position, and Head Coach Doug Winkowitsch knows how versatile he is.
“Number one, he’s a tremendous leader. He was voted captain by our team, and he’s an outstanding young man, he works extremely hard. Physically, he is several steps ahead of where he was last year, but I think the biggest step has been mentally. We have really tried to simplify things, make sure that everybody’s comfortable. He’s just been a tremendous kid to work with. He’s the first one here, he’s the last one to leave (and) he’s just that kind of guy. He’s a tremendous talent, but it goes beyond that.”
ADM leads the historical series over Winterset 11-5, including winning the past three games garnering a 31-9 victory last season. Kickoff will be from Winterset High School tonight at 7:30pm as Raccoon Valley Radio will carry the broadcast on K107.9 KKRF, with the pregame beginning at 6:30pm.
