The annual Adel Breakout Rodeo is taking place today and tomorrow inside the Dallas County Fairgrounds.
According to Co-Organizer Jeannene Marean, who runs the rodeo with her husband Jeremy, this will be the fifth year of the event as the gates will open at 5pm both days. She describes that mutton busting will be available to kids eight years and younger, as registration will occur around the same time when the gates open, and will happen prior to the rodeo at 6pm.
Marean confirms that the rodeo will follow at 7:30pm as there will be over 100 contestants participating. She adds that the night will feature plenty of food vendors, a beer garden, plus live musical entertainment after the rodeo on both nights. Marean states that children ages five and under get in for free, while 6-11 year olds cost $5 and those over the age of 12 will need to pay $10.
