A professional musician in Jefferson is headed to the Iowa Rock ‘N Roll Hall of Fame tomorrow.

Chad Elliott has been a singer/songwriter for 26 years and recently has teamed up with Kathryn Severing-Fox to form the “Weary Ramblers” with their debut album in 2024 and their second album coming in October. He shares that while he hasn’t let the moment of being in the Hall of Fame fully sink in yet, he describes another unique experience that drives along the lines of being in the Iowa Rock ‘N Roll Hall of Fame.

“I was part of the ‘Buddy Holly Story” for the Surf Ballroom’s 50th anniversary. So I performed as Buddy Holly for that, in the band, and his widow was there and got up and sang with me, so I was singing with Buddy Holly’s widow. And that was the closest I ever felt like, ‘Oh man, this is tied with some kind of history in the rock and roll music. So, to have my name up there just for my solo career is pretty neat.”

Elliott will be inducted as part of the “Individual Category” with the ceremony taking place on Sunday from 1-3pm at the SAMI Bedell Center for the Performing Arts in Spirit Lake. The concert will follow, featuring Elliott, from 5:30-11pm at the Roof Garden Ballroom in Arnolds Park, Iowa.
