The Dallas Center-Grimes Mustangs football team traveled to Urbandale for week one of the 2025 football season. The Mustangs would pick up a big victory in their season opener, defeating the J-Hawks 28-19.

The Mustangs would have a slow start in the first quarter, as both offenses would struggle to find any ground throughout the first. Chase Engel and the Mustangs would begin to find their grove and march down field. Placed at the one yard line with only 39 seconds left, Engel would connect with Jackson Reis for the first touchdown of the night putting the Mustangs ahead 7-0. The J-Hawks would respond quickly in the second half, scoring off a long 80 yard pass within 11 seconds to bring the score to 7-7. The Mustangs would not hang their head and would respond, as Ozzy Grimm would have a hard fought five yard rush to score with about 1:50 left in the second to give the Mustangs the lead 14-7 going into the halftime break.

Coming back from the break, the Mustangs would keep applying the pressure to the J-Hawks, and would score two more touchdowns before the night would end. Chase Heitland would take a punt return all the way to the house to give the Mustangs seven more points, while Osborn Grimm would continue to dominante on the ground and end the night with one more rushing touchdown to help the Mustangs defeat the J-Hawks 28-19.
