
Perry’s offense couldn’t reach the end zone as Ogden picked up the week one win 18-0 at Ogden on Friday night.
The football season opened up for Perry on Friday as Head Coach Josh Vannornam took the Bluejays to Ogden. Four different Bluejays took a snap at QB as the second year coach tried to spark the offense.
Cameron Dudley scored on a three yard rush with 6:20 to go in the second quarter to take an 8-0 lead (2pt conversion good). A high snap on a fourth down punt would sail through the end zone as Perry surrendered a safety with 56 seconds in the first half. Ogden would take a 10-0 lead into half. Cejay Jones connected on an 11 yard TD pass to Weston Sundell in the third to grow the lead to 18 (2pt conversion good).
The Bluejays managed a couple big plays behind Ian Fisher, who made if first career start at quarterback. He connected on a 40 yard pass to Owen Zander and a 21 yard pass to Jacobo Cerna-Gomez. Nadir Quahbi added a 39 yard rush.
The defense for Perry forced five turnovers including three interceptions. Zander Quahbi, and Michael Bahtagic each had a pick.
Perry falls to 0-1 while Ogden improves to 1-0.
The Bluejays returns home for week two as Boone comes to Dewey Field next Friday.
