Adair County Veterans Affairs will be hosting a resource fair and lunch for veterans next week.
According to VA Coordinator Gwen Johnston, veterans, service members and spouses are invited to the 4-H Building at the Adair County Fairgrounds in Greenfield from 10am to 1pm on September 11th. She shares why the event is vital for those who serve, have served, or are married to them.
“The resource fair is an important opportunity because veterans don’t (always) know where to go to get the benefits they deserve. The fair gives the veterans and their spouses an opportunity and a place to find those resources.”
Johnston mentions that a special program will begin with a moment of silence at 11am in remembrance of the events of September 11, 2001, followed by a special ceremony honoring all veterans. She adds that attendees will be able to enjoy a free lunch provided by the Adair County Pork Producers and Fareway, and that there will be an opportunity for some to win gift cards from Casey’s General Store, Fareway, and local restaurants.
