A new program is being incorporated into the Adel-DeSoto-Minburn School District.

High School Principal Lee Griebel tells Raccoon Valley Radio that the district is in the first full year for the “School to Career” program. He notes that the course was briefly introduced during last  school year by Coordinator Doug Winkowitsch. Griebel praises the willingness of Winkowitsch to help students succeed past high school.

“He does a wonderful job getting out (and) making connections for kids really diving in. That school to career connection is really important for students who either are making a determination on what they want to do for the rest of their lives or even getting those experiences and making that determination that that’s not the job I want to do for the rest of my life and that’s okay.”

Griebel illustrates that this opportunity gives students choices to test a specific career field to identify whether it’s for them or not. He believes the program is off to a good start.
