Because of the Labor Day holiday on Monday, the Greene County Board of Supervisors met on Tuesday.
During open forum, a rural resident inquired about the change of the drainage district clerk and who people needed to contact. Supervisor Chair John Muir said the County Auditor’s Office would be the point of contact in the Greene County Courthouse, along with entering into a contract for a company that will handle the other responsibility for now.
County Engineer Wade Weiss then gave an update. He said work is finishing up on County Road P-29, along with crews still moving shoulder dirt on County Road E-18. He added that shoulder tiling will begin September 18th for all road projects in that area.
The Board then approved abating $548 of property taxes for Region XII Council of Governments. Tax Coordinator Pam Olreich said the organization Churdan 2.0 had the property in 2023, but when it was transferred to Region XII, the designation for tax exempt was missed. The Board also approved a resolution to authorize opioid settlement participation documents for the secondary manufacturers lawsuit, along with a resolution to amend a 28E agreement with New Opportunities for its opioid mitigation programs.
Additionally, the Board approved a watchperson service agreement with AgriVia for drainage services and an alcohol license for Apres Bar Company for September 16th-20th at a rural residence for an event. They also heard about a contract involving the County Assessor’s Office for parcel maintenance on the county’s property search website, the Beacon, with Schneider Geopatial.
