Five businesses within four rural communities in Dallas County are grant recipients through the Greater Dallas County Development Alliance.

Executive Director Rachel Wacker shares that the Development Alliance Group developed the Small Business Grant Fund that was based on surveys to companies in order to best distribute the money. She reveals the five small businesses being recognized with the grants are Mashe Modern in Dallas Center, Boyd Creative in Dallas Center, Drifters in Bouton, Redfield Quilt Shop, and Noted Studios in Adel. She says that each organization is receiving between $3,000-$5,000 and loves the attention that rural communities are getting.

“Thank you to everyone who applied for the program. There were a few that we had to make some hard decisions and we could not fund, but that’s not to say that they’re not doing great big things in Dallas County. And that’s what we’re really noticing by getting to know our small business community throughout Dallas County is that there’s so many great stories to be told, so many opportunities for connection, and we are just so excited to see what further partnership and support we can offer to our small business community in Dallas County.”

Wacker outlines that the Development Alliance is planning on awarding small rural communities in Dallas County on an annual or bi-annual basis if the funds allow. She adds that small businesses may apply online to be a grant recipient at any time. The link to register can be found by clicking here.
