A Grand Junction man was recently arrested for two separate alleged incidents.

According to court documents, a Greene County Sheriff’s Deputy responded to an anonymous call just before 2pm on Tuesday that alleged that there was a warranted individual in the Casey’s General Store in Grand Junction. When the deputy arrived on scene, court documents show that 44-year-old Richard Keller was inside the store and refused to comply with the deputy’s request to discuss an arrest warrant.

The criminal complaint states that Keller withdrew a pocketknife and held it against his own throat before fleeing through a side door. The affidavit reports that the deputy chased after him and was able to apprehend him. Court documents state that another deputy arrived on scene and found drug-related items on Keller. He was then charged with two Class D Felonies for his third or subsequent offense for a controlled substance violation and for interference with official acts-dangerous weapon and a simple misdemeanor for possession of drug paraphernalia.

Additionally, court documents show that the warrant was for another alleged incident in late August. A deputy responded to a call for an assault at a Grand Junction residence. The victim stated that they were dropping off another individual and didn’t feel safe once they saw Keller and another person acting erratically. The victim said Keller and the other person were throwing beer bottles, which caused injuries and damage to the victim’s vehicle. Keller was then charged with a Class D Felony for second degree mischief and a serious misdemeanor for assault causing bodily injury or mental illness.

Keller was booked into the Greene County Jail and remains under a $5,000 cash or surety bond. Raccoon Valley Radio will bring you more information as it becomes official.
