
Class 2A sixth ranked Woodward-Granger visits Linduska Field in Jefferson on Friday night in Greene County’s first home game of the football season. It is designated as Heroes Night with first responders, law enforcement, military veterans, and fire fighters being recognized at halftime. It’s the first road game for the Hawks and first home game for the Rams.
Caden Duncan is head coach of the Rams. He told Raccoon Valley Radio the Hawks return All-State players in Talen Fuson and Kane Mahler-Moreno. Fuson is the quarterback and he ran for 205 yards and and all four touchdowns in a 28-21 victory vs. Madrid. Fuson also passed for 77 yards in the season opener. Mahler-Moreno averaged 22 yards per pass reception in 2024 and recorded 19.5 tackles for loss as a junior. Both players are seniors.
Both teams are 1-0. The Rams won at Boone last Friday by a 36-20 final. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. with coverage on KG98 at 6:30 p.m.
