Dewey Field will host Perry football for the first time this season tonight as Boon comes to Perry. KDLS and the Raccoon Valley Radio Sports Network will have the kickoff at 7P and the Perry Hy-Vee Pregame Show at 6P.
Perry dropped week one to Ogden 18-0. The defense performed well with five takeaways, but Head Coach Josh Vannornam wants to see the squad step up in the other faucets of the game.
“We have to play all three phases of the ball. Offense, defense, special teams just collectively play better and you know we have to do our jobs and all those three categories of football and if you don’t do that on one of them it’s may not be the outcome we want.”
The offense managed 101 yards against Ogden with 93 of which in the passing game. Ian Fisher passed for 85 yards in his first career start.
Boone is coming off a 36-20 defeat to Greene County. Coach Vannornam is worried about the rushing attack of the Toreadors tonight.
“They run the ball pretty well from an offensive perspective. They have some big dudes. Their offensive line is pretty solid.”
Kickoff is set for 7P at Dewey Field for Perry versus Boone. Coverage begins at 6P on the Raccoon Valley Radio Sports Network.
