The 27th Annual Jefferson Rotary Club Annual Charity Auction is coming up in November and the organization is highlighting an addition to an amenity in the city.
According to the local non-profit organization, Jefferson Rotary donated $50,000 to help build the dog park that is next to the Community Animal Shelter. As part of the project, Shane Olson, owner of Olson Iron Works in Churdan, donated the cost to make the recently installed sign at the main entrance of the park. The Rotary Club states that Olson also donated various cat and dog iron cut outs from his commercial metal cutting laser machine that were then painted by the Greene County High School art students, before being installed in the park as well.
The Rotary Club says the dog park includes several items that both large and small canines can use in their respective sections, to serve for anyone wanting to have their dogs get exercise. The park was part of the Jefferson Rotary Club’s 100th anniversary in 2022. Additionally, Olson is also donating popular garden art for their auction.
Organizers of the auction say there are many “pre-auction” items available now online by clicking here, and are added to every week.
