The long awaited start to the season for Perry volleyball is finally over.  The Jayettes are just one of three schools in the state that haven’t played a match.  Perry travels to the SCC Early Bird Tourney this morning in Rockwell City.

The Jayettes are scheduled to play multiple matches today.

Seniors Charity Parnell and Karagyn Whelchel will look to get Perry off to a strong start.  Parnell isn’t worried that this will be the first game action for the club.

I feel like there’s a lot of anticipation and nerves but we’re kind of just building our skills so we’re ready for the first game.”

Perry is coming off a 16-18 season and went 2-2 in the SCC Early Bird Tourney last year.

Both girls added that this tourney was one of their favorite moments from last year.

I also agree with Charity with going to South Central Calhoun and getting those two wins which was the best we did in that tournament.”

The Jayettes take the court at 9:40A and will compete all day at Rockwell City.
