The Adel-DeSoto-Minburn School Board met in regular session on Monday.

The board explored a contract for Upward Trend Literacy consultant Barb Shutt to provide Independent Contractor Literacy Consultant Services at Adel Elementary and Meadow View Elementary to give observation, feedback and virtual teaming/consultation with ADM Teachers. Superintendent Greg Dufoe said the district was happy to bring Shutt along to provide these services. After a short discussion, the board accepted the agreement.

Other items on the agenda that were approved included a bond counsel and disclosure counsel engagement agreement with Ahlers and Cooney to use school infrastructure sales and tax revenue bonds in the amount of $18,000,000, then a resolution to fix the date of sale and accept the official statement for the $18 million bond counsel on September 24th at 5pm, and a daycare starting rate of $18.83 for childcare worker, $19.43 for supervisor, and $17 for high school students (support only).

Additional approved items included a Building Supervisor job description with the hourly rate of $18 for qualifying candidates, a change order for the new ADM High School for $28,875, a gas main extension for $51,673.37 to MidAmerican Energy, and a charter service agreement with Windstar Charters for the 2025-26 school year.
