The Brenton Arboretum will be holding a fun debut event coming up on Saturday.

Brenton Arboretum Executive Director Melissa Burdick announces that the organization is hosting the inaugural Concert on the Prairie, featuring live entertainment. She highlights that people can enjoy an open-air concert by musician Luke Stutzman, who was named the 2023 Iowa Music Awards Acoustic Artist of the Year. Burdick reveals how the first-ever event came together.

“In the past, we’ve done larger gala fundraiser events with music, and people have seemed to really enjoy it. And we always hear, ‘Oh, people would love to come to a concert out here,’ and so said, let’s give it a try.”

Burdick encourages people to bring their own picnic, as well as a blanket or foldable chairs to sit on during the concert. She details the event will be taking place from 6-8pm on Saturday, with the gates opening at 5pm. Burdick adds that tickets are $20 for arboretum members and $25 for non-members, which can either be purchased online or at the door. To find the link to buy tickets, click here.
