Greene County hosts its only home cross-country meet of the season tomorrow at Spring Lake State Park northeast of Jefferson. The Greene County Invitational starts at 4:30 p.m. with middle school races for girls and boys, then high school races for both. Eight schools are scheduled to take part.

Jeff Lamoureux is the head coach of the cross-country program at Greene County for girls and boys. He told Raccoon Valley Radio this meet has been held at different locations over the years, but it’s back at Spring Lake after a hiatus of a few years. “It’s a great course! People love it, the kids love it, and we’re excited about it!” Lamoureux added rain is not a friend of that course because of how low the grounds sit in relation to the lake, but rain chances are next to nothing tomorrow, so he’s confident the meet will run as scheduled.
