Yami Gonzalez has been a staple for Perry volleyball the last few years.  The now senior has starred on the soccer field while playing volleyball.

Gonzalez will be the squad’s libero in 2025.  The libero has a unique roll on the court.

I get most of the digs and like any ball that comes deep into the court.”

Gonzalez uses her mindset as a defender on the pitch while she plays volleyball.

In soccer I’m also defender so I stay back as well so it helps me kind of predict where the ball is going and like staying low and like running for those balls that get shanked.”

Perry is 0-7 to start 2025.  Gonzalez has recorded 11 digs so far this season.

The Jayettes will play in front of the home crowd for the first time tomorrow at the Perry Varsity Invitational.  Action starts at 4P tomorrow at the high school.
