
The Adel City Council met in regular session on Tuesday.
According to Mayor Jim Peters, the council reviewed and accepted several items pertaining to the Bailey’s Grove Channel Improvements project, which is a residential area being repaired from years of erosion. The items that were approved included a change order for $4,284, the final pay application for $116,805, a final acceptance letter, and a resolution of acceptance of completion.
Peters shares that other items on the agenda that were approved included a profile for Theia Management Consultants to do a city administrator search, accepting a sidewalk regulations waiver request from O’Reilly Auto Parts, a resolution for the preliminary plat for Ortonville Industrial Park Plat 1, a proposal with McClure Engineering for the Meadow Road functional design study, and setting a public hearing to determine the necessity on the matter of the adoption of a proposed amended and restated Urban Revitalization Plan and whether to grant an access easement to Fairfax Properties LLC across a property east of the city’s water tower on Meadow Road for Tuesday, October 14th at 6pm.
Peters adds that the council also approved two first readings, then waived the second and third readings for adoptions to amend provisions pertaining to liquor licenses, wine and beer permits, and for cigarette and tobacco permits.
