After a sloppy start in week two for the Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Football Team, Head Coach Doug Winkowitsch feels satisfied with the response the Tigers had to clean up the mistakes the rest of the contest.

ADM rolled to a 41-3 victory over Ballard this past Friday, but the first quarter was anything but flawless. In fact, there were three turnovers on both teams, specifically two fumbles and an interception on the Tigers side. Head Coach Doug Winkowitsch says having three turnovers and still scoring 41 points is quite unique, but points out the guys have a lot of work ahead of them with schemes and fundamentals. He expresses that the team responded well following the opening quarter.

“Our kids played hard and we were resilient and finally get the wheels on the track. And Hudson (Shull) is such a dynamic player, he’s just going to continue to make plays and we just got to get better up front to accommodate that, but I thought Ethan Uglum had a tremendous night, ran some great routes, got himself open. We used Leyton Gerleman a little bit more Friday night to help be a little more explosive offensively, and unfortunately two of his big runs were called back on holding penalties, but great to get him involved.”

Winkowitsch emphasizes that the defense was consistent during the game, only giving up a field goal. ADM will be hitting the road to Alleman tomorrow to face off against the North Polk Comets at 7pm. Raccoon Valley Radio will carry the broadcast on K107.9 KKRF.
