It was a tightly contested battle between the 12th-ranked Adel-DeSoto-Minburn and 13th-seeded Dallas Center-Grimes Volleyball Teams on Thursday, with the Mustangs winning some close matches to pull out the victory in four sets.

The first set went the distance, as the Tigers had enough to power them through to a 28-26 victory to lead 1-0, before the Mustangs edged them out in the second set 25-23 to tie the series up at 1-1. The third set saw DCG get off to a 7-0 start and ADM couldn’t recover, falling 25-14, and the fourth set was back and forth, as the Mustangs were able to make some plays late to outlast the Tigers, taking the final frame 26-24.

DCG is now 4-5 on the year, while ADM drops to 12-3 and both teams will be competing in the Southeast Polk Invitational in Pleasant Hill tomorrow, beginning at 8am.
