Midwest Partnership is helping to host an event in Greenfield on Tuesday.
Director Brenda Dudley says they are partnering with the Small Business Development Center and are co-hosting an Emergency Preparedness for Small Businesses and Organizations presentation. Dudley tells Raccoon Valley Radio about some of what the event will cover.
“It’s a free event, and it’s just a way to get businesses prepared for a disaster. You know, Greenfield had their tornado, so they’ve already been through a major disaster, but it’s not only stuff like that. It’s for natural disasters, (like) floods, tornadoes, severe weather. It also involves human-caused disasters like cyber attacks, workplace violence, and infrastructure failure like power outages, (and) communication breakdowns.”
Dudley mentions that the speaker for the event is SBDC Outreach Development Counselor Victor Oyervides, and that the three critical phases of emergency preparedness he will cover are risk assessment, crisis management and business recovery. She adds that the event will take place from 6-7:30pm at Hotel Greenfield, with a free supper sponsored by the Greater Greenfield Community Foundation.
