The AC/GC Chargers saw some growth and success Thursday night.

Chargers Cross Country Head Coach Rick Blake says that the teams took on some very strong and hard running teams. For the boys team, Preston Kent set the pace with a 17:38.32 finish for second place, while Brooklyn Schafer paced the girls team with a 23:10.18 finish for 109th place. Blake mentions that several of the runners for both teams ran new personal records. He adds that the teams will need to really step things up in the next three weeks, taking a sense of urgency to prepare to finish the season even stronger than they started.

The volleyball team had a strong showing against cross county rival, the Panorama Panthers, taking them down in three sets. Head Coach Caley Vaughan says that the team took the first set 25-18, the second 25-20, and the third and final set 28-26. She mentions that the team played some steady ball, serving almost perfectly and putting the pressure on the Panthers.

Vaughan explains the defense passed the ball very well, allowing setter Becca Littler to run the offensive very smoothly. She shares that in the last play to win the final set, Littler put up a perfect set to Stella Largent, who smacked the ball just out of the reach of the Panthers libero. The volleyball team is back in action today as they attend the Griswold tournament.
