At was a hard fought battle at home for the Dallas Center-Grimes Mustangs on Friday night as the Mustangs played host to the Dowling Catholic Maroons. The Mustangs would struggle offensively and would be shut out by the Maroon defense 27-0.

Dallas Center-Grimes would have a strong start defensively in the first quarter, as Hudson Heidgerken would recover a fumble on a kick off to put the Mustangs in the redzone. Wyatt Valenta would also help the Mustang offense, with an interception putting the Mustangs across mid field but the offense would not be able to break through the Maroon’s defense.

Now 2-1, the Mustangs look to shake off the tough loss against Dowling Catholic and focus on their next opponent, the Des Moines Roosevelt Roughriders.
