Greene County Community Theatre is going to have a special production just in time for Halloween.

GCCT President Josh Tuel says the original 1938 script of the “War of the Worlds” by Orson Wells is going to be a recorded performance and will be aired on their Facebook page on October 30th. He tells Raccoon Valley Radio this was something that their organization talked about doing last year, but ran out of time, and he is elated to be able to do it this year.

“I’m really excited about it, I think it’ll be a lot of fun. I remember when I was a kid listening to the rebroadcast of that during Halloween time. And yeah, (it’s) something that I’m really looking forward to. This is kind of a personal passion project, I guess, to get done.”

Tuel points out that about 27 people are needed for this radio show, in which everything will be recorded ahead of time and will not require very many rehearsals. There are two informational meetings scheduled for later this week at the Masonic Lodge in downtown Jefferson. Those meetings are Saturday and Sunday at 7pm. Anyone who can’t make those meetings but is still interested can contact GCCT by private message on their Facebook page, or click here.
