It’s Homecoming week in the Greene County School District. There are a number of activities for students and the public including the Friday night football game with non-district opponent Saydel (Des Moines). Both teams are coming off victories last Friday. The Rams were 21-20 overtime winners vs. Grand View Christian (Des Moines) on Saydel’s field because the Thunder have no home field. The Eagles were 24-20 winners at Des Moines North for their first win of 2025, and just their third since 2021.

The Rams will be trying for win number three on the season in their fourth and final non-district contest. Greene County overcame a 14-0 deficit early in the third quarter vs. GVC and tied the game before quarter number three ended. Neither team scored in the fourth quarter. GVC had the ball first on OT and scored a touchdown, but missed the extra point. The Rams made their extra point after scoring a TD and that was the difference in the game.
