Guthrie County Iowa State University Extension and Outreach will have some library events besides their Apple’licous themed program for children.

Program Director Shelby Van Horn says that there are two other library events on her calendar that are geared more towards families and adults. She tells Raccoon Valley Radio that one will be at the Bayard Public Library for a Literacy Day.

“We will be there with an interactive booth so you can stop out and see us and (it) sounds like there’s going to be fun for (the) whole family and some good food. So come see us that day.”

Van Horn mentions that the other event will be at the Stuart Public Library, where she will be talking with the cookbook club about healthy meals that can be prepared in crock pots, along with other options that the Extension can provide. She adds that the event at the Bayard Library is Saturday from 11am to 2pm, and that the Stuart Library event is next Monday from noon to 1pm.
