Midwest Partnership will be taking part in the Greater Des Moines Partnership Regional Summit tomorrow in Des Moines.

Midwest Partnership Executive Director Brenda Dudley says that the meeting will be at the Iowa Events Center this time instead of the Iowa State Fairgrounds, as at the last meeting they were beginning to run out of room for attendees, and the new location is larger. She tells Raccoon Valley Radio about a segment that is being introduced during this meeting.

“They have added something new this year that I’m really excited about. A lot of times with the rural counties, you know, we’re a lot different than the urban and suburban counties. So this year they have added, ‘Ideas from Around the Region.’ So they want each county to be represented and they’re gonna ask them to talk about things that we’re proud of, that we’ve worked well together, (and that) we’ve collaborated with other people.”

Dudley mentions that for Guthrie County, Board of Supervisors Chair Maggie Armstrong will discuss how the Guthrie and Greene County Conservation Departments are working together to rehabilitate a section of the Raccoon River Valley Trail. She adds that for Adair County, Greater Greenfield Community Foundation Member Jennifer Garside will present on The Gathering Place, the old Presbyterian church that was donated to the group to use as a location for events, community needs, and much more.

Dudley shares that the meeting will be from 9am to 4:30pm, with a happy hour and networking time from 4:30-6pm, and that anyone who would like to join should be able to, but that space may be limited. Those interested in attending will need to register at this link.
