After multiple top three finishes, the Dallas Center-Grimes Mustangs boys golf team picked up their first victory of the season on Monday in Ames at the Turk Bowman Ames Invitational. The Mustang team claimed first with a team score of 296 strokes.

Junior Dylan Jarchow would lead the Mustangs, tying for second place with a score of 70 strokes. Jackson Zeller would tie for seventh with a score of 73 strokes, with Gavin Drake, Chase Perrin, Avery Van Zelderen and Drake Jordan all shooting in the 70s for the Mustangs.

Riding the waves from their first win of the season, Mustang golf returns to action on Thursday, traveling to the Elmwood Country Club in Marshalltown for the Joe August Invite. Golf action is set to begin at 10am.
