Several local entities in the Perry community will be collaborating for a second time to provide information to the public on Tuesday.
According to Perry Chamber Director Lynsi Pasutti, the second annual P.O.W.E.R. Hour program will be happening from 11:30am-12:30pm, where prominent figures in the community will be sharing updates pertaining to their area of emphasis. She outlines that the acronym stands for “Projects, Opportunities, Wisdom, Excitement, and Resources.”
Pasutti notes that John Anderson and Becky Halling will be speaking about projects going on for the Perry Parks and Recreation Department. Following that, Pasutti describes that Perry School District Superintendent Clark Wicks, Eddie Diaz from the Perry Economic Development Group, along with herself for the chamber, will also provide additional updates. She reveals that it serves as a good outlet to keep residents informed.
“If you’re curious about what’s going on, ‘Hey, what’s that building that’s going up, or what is new since the last time we heard.’ It kind of bubbled up as an opportunity to let’s all get together and just give a really quick update of things that we’re working on. There’s a lot of activity at the (Perry) Industrial Park. We’re always working on something, and sometimes we don’t even know what each other are doing.”
Pasutti welcomes residents to come and listen for free, but says that people can register for a boxed lunch, which will cost $15. She adds that people can RSVP online by tomorrow to reserve their seats and mentions that if people can’t attend, there will be a recording on the City of Perry’s YouTube page after the event, which is taking place inside the Hotel Pattee’s Ballroom, 1112 Willis Avenue.
