
With the city and school elections coming up in November, there are a few contested races.
According to Dallas County Accounting and Elections Clerk Lexxi Link, there are two Adel City Council seats up for election, and three candidates vying including Eric Trout who is running for re-election, then new members Nate Hawkins and Randy Cornelison. She notes that for mayor, incumbent Jim Peters is running for re-election and Timothy Crannell is challenging him. Link explains that for the community of Perry, City Council At-Large member Vicki Klein is running for re-election and John Andorf is also running for the other at-large seat after being appointed this year. She adds that Perry Mayor Dirk Cavanaugh is seeking re-election and is unopposed.
Perry Director of Finance and Business Services Dallon Christensen outlines that Eddie Diaz and Travis Landgrebe are the two incumbents on the school board seeking re-election.
