The leader of the Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Girls Cross Country Team expresses his gratitude for the exceptional young women he coaches.
Tiger Head Coach Steve Brown shares that he is extremely blessed on a yearly basis to be given some nice respectful girls to lead and help grow their passion for running. He notes that all the girls are easy to work with and are more importantly becoming friends with each other. Brown outlines that the team consists of three freshmen, one sophomore of Elliotte Von Roden, 10 juniors, and eight seniors. He says the entire team always comes to practice ready to go.
“They really approach the season with a great growth mindset, so they’ve worked really hard all summer, and support each other in the right ways. So it’s been a really blessed team to work with. I feel really fortunate to have this group of kids, so the work is really starting to kick in. Every time we step on a course, they are improving noticeably, and so we are really excited about the trend and the direction we are headed.”
ADM Girls tallied 3rd place in their latest meet at the Mike Carr Invitational in Huxley on Monday. The Tiger girls will next be in action on Tuesday, when they travel to Maytag Park in Newton for the Steve McDermott Invitational, beginning at 5pm.
