Candidates running for the city/school election in November have been released in Adair and Guthrie Counties.
According to the Adair County Auditor’s Office, there is a contested race for the Stuart City Council with five individuals for three seats. Those candidates include Zach Ingwers, Trevor Nelson, Alan Bovee, Angie Capps, and Kristina Renslow, and there is no one seeking re-election. There is also a contested race for the position of mayor in Stuart, with John Gulbranson and current Council member Cory Kirkpatrick running for the seat. The Auditor’s Office says for the Greenfield City Council, there are four people for three seats. Those candidates are incumbents Jeff Clayton and Rita Eble, along with newcomers Carl Faust and Nathan Hubenka.
There are also several non-contested city elections in Adair County, including the City of Adair, where incumbent Joanne Byars is seeking reelection for mayor, while Paul Gettler is also seeking reelection for one of the two seats up for election on the Adair City Council. According to the Auditor’s Office, Gettler was the only candidate to file for Adair City Council. In Greenfield, running for Mayor to fill a vacancy is Brian Fox.
According to the Guthrie County Auditor’s Office, contested races are occurring for City Councils in several towns, including Casey, where Jennifer Geren-Penton, LeRoy Hall, Cody Sheeder and Tyler Stolk are running for two positions that are up for election.
