The first official day of fall is Monday and the Dallas County Conservation Board is doing a program to coincide with the occasion.

Outreach Coordinator Jeni Baker shares that the conservation board invites people out for their Fall Equinox Celebration at Hanging Rock Park, 416 Crooked Street, in Redfield. She reveals that people can meet up with a naturalist at the astronomical clock to learn about the celestial changing of the seasons. Baker details that as the moon is going down, people can join the naturalist with songs and dances, and it is just a magical time.

“I mean it’s like a celebration, you’re watching the season change pretty much right before your eyes, so it’s kind of an interesting thing if you’ve never been there.”

Baker confirms that people of all ages are welcome, as the program will be free of charge and is happening on Monday from 6:30-7:30pm.
