The Homecoming football game for the Greene County Rams is tonight at Linduska Field in Jefferson. Coach Caden Duncan’s 2-1 Rams host the 1-2 Saydel Eagles in the last non-district game of the season. Both teams won last Friday with Saydel at Des Moines North and the Eagles winning 24-20. The Rams overcame a 14-0 deficit to win in overtime by a 21-20 final on Saydel’s field vs. Grand View Christian, handing the Thunder their first loss of the season.
Senior Drew Wolterman missed the first two games of the season for Greene County with an Achilles tendon issue, but he came up big vs. the Thunder with a pass interception and 49 yard return deep into opposition territory, setting up the first points for the Rams. Wolterman also recovered an onside kick, recorded 3.5 tackles from the secondary, and caught his first two passes of the season.
Coach Duncan told Raccoon Valley Radio the Eagles are scrappy and his team needs to be sharp on offense, defense, and special teams.
Coverage on KG98 and www.raccoonvalleyradio.com is at 6:30 p.m. with kickoff at 7 o’clock.
