The AC/GC Chargers took down the Mount Ayr Raiders 28-20 last night.
The Chargers got things started off quickly, forcing a fumble on the first play of the game, and on their first offensive play they took it in for the touchdown. The team would get another touchdown before the end of the first quarter to go up 14-0 going into the second. This is where things picked up though, as the Raiders quickly picked up two touchdowns in the second, getting the two point conversion on one to tie it up. Both teams would secure one more touchdown before halftime, with Mount Ayr failing another two point conversion, sending the game into the break with AC/GC leading 21-20.
The third quarter saw no one score, and the fourth quarter started with the same score as halftime. In the fourth, the Chargers put in the longest drive of the game, starting on their own 15 yard line. The team got a ten yard penalty, and suffered a tackle for a loss of three yards, but made up ground quickly. The drive lasted 16 plays, including a punt that ended in the Raiders fumbling the ball, and Chase Slaybaugh recovering it. The drive ended in another touchdown for the Chargers, and after a short drive by both teams, the game ended with the 28-20 victory for AC/GC.
