Today is the final day of the Friends of the Jefferson Public Library Fall Used Book Sale.

Youth Services Librarian Bailey Mount says it is also Bargain Day where anyone who stops in can fill a bag for $5, which typically brings in quite a few folks.

“There are a lot of people down there and I have seen people like, ‘If you’re telling me that I can fill a bag, a plastic shopping bag, full of books?’ When I was a kid, my grandfather used to take me to annual used book sales at my public library in California, and that would usually be the day that he brought me (during Bargain Days). I totally get it.”

The Friends will accept cash, check or online payments and all proceeds benefit the Friends organization, which helps to supplement items for the library. The Fall Used Book Sale is open from 9am-1pm today.
