A familiar face will be roaming the sideline for girls basketball this winter at Perry. David Morris, current boys coach, will oversee the girls.
Coach Morris has been at Perry since 2020. He will double dip this season coaching both the boys and girls. This has become a fairly common trend at Perry High School after Tina Lutterman stepped into the Activities Director and started coaching volleyball and Nathan Krohn is a coed coach for cross country.
Coach Morris takes over for Kevin Klein, who was at Perry for two years and went 9-35. The new Jayettes coach worked with the girls over the summer and said they are a fun, hardworking group to be around. He understands it is a large time commitment, but is up to the task.
Practice is allowed to begin on November 10 for the girls and the 17th for the boys.
The Jayettes open at Des Moines Hoover on November 24.
