A ribbon-cutting was held for a long-standing business in Jefferson to officially usher in its new location.

Journey Financial hosted a Java and Juice program with Jefferson Matters ahead of its ribbon-cutting Friday morning, as it opened its new location, at 121 East Lincoln Way, on the southeast corner of the downtown square. Owner Tim Heisterkamp said the main reason for moving his business from an office suite at Home State Bank to a stand-alone building was to account for growth of employees.

Heisterkamp noted that another reason was to create an educational space, where 40-50 people could attend various seminars. He thought the final product of how the transformation looked was incredible as he described some of his favorite parts being the high ceilings, ranging from 14-18 feet, and other little nuisances throughout.

“So with that, we had to do eight-foot doors, and then with the eight-foot doors comes all the trim in all of the offices. So for me, what I think is the most impressive and most beautiful part about this building is the woodwork, it’s the accent of the walnut trim. We have a hardwood maple floor throughout the main part of the office, in the waiting room and down the hallway, and that is just gorgeous.”

The hours of operation are 8am-5pm Monday through Friday and Heisterkamp added that they are accepting new clients as well. The public open house is scheduled for this coming Tuesday, September 23rd from 8am-1pm and the first public seminar is September 30th about the basics of investing.
