A Perry man was recently taken into custody following two separate incidents that happened this past Saturday.
According to court documents, the Perry Police Department received reports on Saturday, September 13th of a female victim who alleged that she had gotten harassing threats from 20-year-old Angel Moises Ortega Velasquez. The criminal complaint states that Ortega Velasquez and the victim share a young child together, and that he was allegedly making verbal threats if he did not get to see his daughter.
Court documents show Ortega Velasquez admitted to having firearms and bullets that he would use to assault the victim and family members. As officers were gathering information, they were notified of an alleged burglary involving Ortega Velasquez later that evening. The complaint states that a female victim was walking through her garage to go outside to her vehicle and when she opened it, Ortega Velasquez popped his head inside, but he claimed that he was confused at which house he was at and then left.
The police department eventually arrested Ortega Velasquez north of the Perry High School football field and was arrested for a Class D Felony for burglary in the 3rd degree and an aggravated misdemeanor for 1st degree harassment. Ortega Velasquez is currently being held in the Dallas County Jail on a $10,000 cash or surety bond. Raccoon Valley Radio will bring you more information as it becomes official.
