The start of the swimming season has been a congested one for Perry. The Jayettes spent the first few weeks of the season with two meets a week. Perry had a chance to breathe this past week with the lone meet on the schedule getting postponed.
Perry can look forward to another light week with just one competition on Thursday. Head Coach, Jean Dowd, has plans for this slower part in the schedule.
“Well this is gotta be kind of a recovery time. If you looked at our schedule, we’ve been pretty heavy with meets. We need to focus on basics and getting back to those basics and just resting up. That many meets as we’ve had so close together kind of takes it out of the girls so I’m looking forward to getting back to basics with the girls.”
Perry swimmers have put together some really good times in the first month. Aleah Karolus has already qualified for state in the 50 Freestyle. Ellie Hughes, Cali Hernandez, and the before mentioned Karolus have also be anchoring Perry in many relays.
The Jayettes return to action in Algona on Thursday.
