The new slate of Career Exploration Camps is underway for Greene County youth to enjoy.
Greene County ISU Extension 4-H and Youth Coordinator Samantha Hardaway says any youth in 1st through 8th grades can participate in one of the programs that are offered on a monthly basis through April of 2026 that is based on the education strains that are in the Greene County Career Academy.
“Our goal is to get the kids into the classrooms and see what those rooms look like that the Career Academy has, and keep that in their back pocket for when they’re old enough to participate or just to explore camps of that exploration area a little bit further as they go through school, if they’re really young.”
Hardaway points out that the individuals that lead each of the programs are the actual instructors from those educational strains in the Career Academy.
“Those kids are getting a first-hand experience with high school/college level instructors giving them a hands-on experience in that pathway. So kudos to them for helping out and thanks to Greene County Community Schools for supporting them to do that.”
Hardaway adds there is a $10 registration fee for each program and the first one of the month is for 1st-3rd grades and the second program is for 4th-8th grades. Click the link below to see the full schedule.
