The Adel Public Library is welcoming the community to a family-friendly event on Friday, featuring those on the front lines of trauma and other emergencies.

According to Programming Specialist Lily Schwarz, they are allowing kids and adults to interact with first responder vehicles. Schwarz illustrates that everyone usually gets a kick out of being close to first responders.

“And this is just for kids to come and sit in the police car, climb up on the fire truck, (and) see what it’s all about. I think there might be like a tree-chipping thing, but you will have ample opportunities to touch trucks if you are interested in that.”

Schwarz details that the event will be held in the library’s parking lot from 9-11am, and no public parking will be allowed during that time. She concludes that people of all ages can participate for free.
