The Adair – Casey / Guthrie Center School Boards discussed some adjustments needed for high school students.

Superintendent Josh Rasmussen says that the two Boards discussed graduation requirements. He tells Raccoon Valley Radio why this was a topic for discussion.

“We have transitioned from a five block day where we basically had five classes and it was in a block format and we would switch classes every quarter, to now we’re at an eight period day and it’s a modified block where we basically go odds and evens for four of the days. So odd periods on Tuesdays (and Thursdays), even periods on Wednesdays (and Fridays) and we go to all eight classes on Monday.”

Rasmussen mentions that this means that there are less credits available, so things needed to be adjusted so that the high school students could still graduate on time. He adds that the first reading of this amendment will be held during the next regular meeting of the Boards on October 15th.
