Harvest season is underway and motorists are encouraged to be more attentive on the roadways.
Greene County Sheriff Jack Williams advises drivers to be on the lookout for large farm machinery, as several implements can take up portions of not only the lane they are traveling on, but the oncoming lane as well.
“But also, keep in mind if there’s a field drive coming up that they might be turning into it and a lot of their turn signals (and) taillights can be covered with dust from the field work. So just be a little more mindful when approaching, coming up to them, to make sure that you’re not going to pass at the same time that they’re going to turn.”
Williams adds to know where it is legal to pass the slower-moving vehicles as well, in passing zones only.
